I have 2 high volume 7000's in my area that dump a pretty large amount of toner on the drive side of the dev unit down over the gears and in the T/S wires they both are level and have done it since new I clean the machines a lot so it don't seem to be a huge problem but I would like to get it to stop. The one had the dvd unit replaced and it does the same thing on the new dev unit. any idea's?

I am going to bump this up. I have the same issue with 3 units, leaking on drive side. I have had a couple apart and nothing seems out of place. We have multiple units in this account and when ever I work on one I check them all and the 7000's run dirty. Any Ideas?

In the early days of the 7000 there was a silent recall on the 7000 developer units for just this problem. Maybe it never really went away.

I have three 7000's in my repro department. All three have had the problem you mentioned. I fixed the problem by replacing the regulation roller cleaning blade.
***HOWEVER***
The cleaning blades that ship are not long enough. Be sure to stretch the cleaning blade to flush on each side of the bracket. This will help the blade perform it's job more efficiently and scrape ALL the toner off the reg. roller.

Also make sure that the cleaning blade fits into the little groove provided for it on the develper gaskets left and right side.

Hope it helps...Good luck
