I have a customer who has been getting intermitent streched prints. The paper cut is the correct lenth but the print looks like it is streched across the page. It also makes a noise when it does this. I have not been able to see it happen when onsite and the customer is 2 hours away. Does anyone have any ideas? Much Thanks... |

my first check is "end of roll prints" which can have the right cut length but an area of the print is very blurred |

The image is not blurred at all, it is streched out the lenth of the print and off the page. It can happen with a full roll as well as a roll that is getting low. |

Check your drive chain. They get sloppy and cause these kind of problems. There is a spring loaded tension bracket that you can use to tighten things up. _________________ Neil Johnston

The noise he mentions is your first clue. It is something mechanical causing the paper feed to slow down momentarily. Start with the chain Neil mentioned. _________________ What we have gained in technology, we have lost in humanity. |

Thanks for the input guys. The chain is tight and it has all new clutches. I went out yesterday to inspect the drum drive system. When I went to remove the fuser drive control board, I found that the ground screw with blue wires was loose. I think that might be the problem, but time will tell. I will keep you posted on what I find.
PS-I still was not able to see it happen. |

FYI It appears that the loose ground fixed the problem. I went by this customer yesterday and they told me it has not done the streched print since my last visit. |
