Banding on halftones. . .

I have been getting a lot of banding lately from one of our 8000's, only on halftone images. Line drawings come out fine.

It usually starts about 6 inches from the lead edge and continues to the end of the image.

Not really ghosting, just banding.

What do you guys think?

Sounds like possibly the dev unit is getting ready to be serviced/rebuilt/refreshed.
Gray scales are the first to show it.

Also could be grid plate.

The grid plate is brand new, so I guess dev unit it is.

That's the direction I was leaning, but I wanted some extra confirmation before I tore into it.

I guess my shirt will be dirty tonight. . .
