i've been reading some of the 8000 topics and several of them mention voltage spikes and ground noise. i have 5 8000's in my building and just lately (in the past 2-3 months) ive seen about 3 or 4 of them invert images out of the blue. by invert, i mean the white is now black and b lack is now white. ive even seen it do it on the trim sheet. sometimes when the papers changed and sometimes while its printing. ive only seen this about 5 times in the mentioned time period. if it does it while printing, itll only do it on about 2 or 3 pages then go back to normal. kip suggests i try this Digtal QC power filter (general bulletin 38b). has anyone out there seen this issue or know whats causing it? is anyone out there currently using this power filter ? has it made any noticeable changes? im trying to get another opinion before i spend the money ($220/each) on these things.
thanks |

These things do work. especially if you are in an area that has "dirty power". Think about it this way, what can you replace on the KIP for $220? Not much. The DC controller board lists for $1800. Cheap insurance. _________________ What we have gained in technology, we have lost in humanity. |

Many of these manufactures will offer circuit board insurance and will pay for any circuit board that fails up to $20,000. I have a requirement that all contract machines are on one just for that reason. |
