|
|
Hey guys, this looks more like a Autocad submitted issue. Jezebel09, any advice..lol. Here is what the customer is saying:
"Just to be clear, our issues are only when printing at 50% scale using KIP Print. The line weights are reduced too much and are therefore too light or even disappear. If we open the same PDF in Acrobat and print it to 50% scale it comes out just fine. The problem is either the way KIP Print is scaling the line weights or how the 7100 is interpreting that information. The line weights on our full sized prints are fine.
This has been a problem from the day that we installed the 7100. We didn’t have this problem with the 3100. I think we even tried using KIP Request but the result was the same. That leads me to believe that the scaling is done at the machine, not by the software."
Any thoughts? Any particular questions I should be asking them? |

OMG!!! This is taxing my brain.
The 3100 and the 7100 is a different animal in that the printing of 'dots' to make up lines are different.
You can have them create a pen table for half-size prints in AutoCAD that will correspond to a 'Half-size' print driver in AutoCAD, but this is usually frowned upon by CAD Managers.
What you can do or should be able to do instead is to adjust the minimum line thickness in Unattend/PrintNET. You should see something in the PrintNET Admin screen for HPGL Min Line Thickness or something like that.
This will make sure that the converted line is no thinner than the desired amount. The default is something like 5.94 or somewhere around there. Set this to a higher value 7 or 8 or maybe even higher and see what happens. _________________ **************************************

Sorry, should also be a minimum grayscale setting as well. Might want to fidget with both of them to get the best output. _________________ **************************************
