Got one that'll repeat the image but you'll only see the repeat image if it lands on a dark gray or black image and shows up as white letters.. Any clue? It looks like a reverse repeat image. I know it has to do with the drum becuase it is 22" apart but what could be affecting it? |

I'd say age or the drum needs to be cleaned. _________________ Regards,

dlee,
Did you resolve this problem?
I'm having the same type problem, mainly when it prints a grey area and the drum repeat image is white in the grey. New drum, new dev housing, new cleaner roller, adjusted transfer wire up and down. Adjusted LED strobe, 401A and B, with no luck. Replaced discharge led's. Cleaned and regreased drum ground.
Let me know if you resolved it and what you did. This has been a fun one.
Thanks in advance.
I'll post once I nail this down.

if you have available you might try swapping the drum end caps. I think I remember this from an old issue I had with a 7095.
Hope this helps |

Just replaced the charge corona and wires. No fix.
Put another drum in with different drum hub. No fix.
I've also stopped the machine while printing to verify that it is happening before the fuser.
Thanks for your suggestions.
Not sure where to go at this point. |

Take a look at the bias pins, springs and holders. If they're worn replace them and use conductive grease on the end of the pin. _________________ Regards,

Replaced 2 worn dev pins and one plastic holder that was broken, greased up the new ones.
Prints still the same with white repeat in the greys.
I'll keep working on it and let everyone know once I stomp this bug. |

Did you check if the Pre-transfer LED (4-16) and Sep. Lamp (4-17) are at 1 (On) ?? This may help to discharge the drum.
Also, you said you replace the discharge lamp, do you see if they work ?
Another thing but I'm not sure, if the transfer/sep wire are too near or too far to the drum, it can do something like you have.
You may also check the current of charge and grid by 4-1a (56 by default)and 4-1b (26b by default) |

Slyman,
Thanks for your suggestions.
I've verified that both the pretransfer and discharge lamps are on in print.
I've moved the trans wire up and down with no difference in the print.
I have moved transfer wire up and down with no luck.
After your post, I adjusted detack down and YeeeeHaaaa, problem solved.
Only now I feel stupid for not moving detack earlier. Just couldn't figure how it would make a diff.
Problem Resolved...Another victory for the Kip Forum support.
Thanks everyone and Slyman for your help.
On to the next.
