Does anyone know how to bring back to life a HP500 (42 inch) that had the ECM replaced at the same time the ISS was replaced? You can reset the eerom and enter a new serial number but it won't allow you to enter a model number. I have tried various combinations of known good used parts (ISS from another 500) and or both parts NEW. It "asks" me what I replaced and I say "BOTH" and it boots up with one of the errors listed above.
This was a demo machine with virtiually no miles on it.................
THe HP forum hasn't been much help to date. Sad

The 1:12 error is a EEROM configuration error.

Try entering service mode.
Power up while holding UP and ENTER at the same time.

Once in service mode, check to see if there is a model ID. If there is, you should be able to power up normally.
I have found that sometimes when you enter service mode it triggers the model ID retrieval correctly.
Also, if the ISS was pulled from an 800, it can cause a model ID conflict if there are any traces of the old model ID.

When you boot up in the service mode the model I.D. reads: CXXXXB.
As far as I know the ECM is the same for any type of HP 500, wether it is a 24 inch, or 42 inch or postscript....is this true? Is it possible I have the wrong ECM, but I have tried several.
Right now it has ECM p.n.# C7779-60263.
This was a working machine and it all started when I "borrowed "some parts from it to make a customers machine work and now I can't bring it back to life!!

I think you have the correct ECM. Try powering up in (service mode). Reset EEROM to default. Enter serial #, model # and font type. Switch pwr. off and back on. Perform factory advance calibration. Don't forget to repeatedly say " I love my job " as you work.
