When 42" media is loaded it loads it as 1000mm. 36" and 24" load fine. Have verified the roll is 42" long. Cleaned the encoder strip and encoder sensor. not sure what else it could be since we have no errors. Thanks. _________________ "If you mess with a thing long enough, It'll break" |

So now I have replaced the Carriage, trailing Cable, Distribution board and encoder strip. No resolution. Has anyone seen this before? _________________ "If you mess with a thing long enough, It'll break" |

Have you made sure the 42" box is "checked" in the Supported media sizes link located in the Express WebTools, Support, Media settings?

Yes. The problem started intermittently but now loads 42" as 1000mm every time. The controller has been reloaded twice but no fix. _________________ "If you mess with a thing long enough, It'll break" |

All I can say is try a different roll....I know it sounds like baloney, but when we had that same problem, it was the roll(s) of paper....
We kept after Oce' about it and they sent new rolls...The tech's couldn't find any other solution. I brought it up when I was in class for the Colorwave and no one had an answer.
Wish I could offer more.... |

Ok Wrenchturner when I read your response I thought there is no way that the paper would cause this issue. But since I have already done everything else I ran out to the account with another roll and IT WORKED. I compared the 2 rolls and have a difference of 2mm. So apparently this machine is fussy on the 42". Thanks for taking the time to post. _________________ "If you mess with a thing long enough, It'll break" |
