Hi,

I've got a 9800 that scans to file just fine, but will spit out blank sheets on copies and prints. Occasionally, I will get a wallpaper print out of it, but more often than not, it is a blank sheet of the correct size. However, the test print (engine test) prints correctly.

All of this pointed me in the direction of the BW processing board and/or the cables between computer and printer. (DRI controller, but running off of Plotworks). I disconnected the computer cables, and did not see any difference in the print.

I'm getting a 20811 error in the log, but nothing showing during the actual work.

Any thoughts as to where to look?

Thanks!

Kris

Well ...

In reality, there has been no resolution yet. Thankfully this is not the only printer we have, and things have been slow enough so as to not cause a huge issue with it not printing.

I'm also technically not a service tech for equipment, but since I know more about this particular printer than any of our guys (all KIP techs) it generally falls on me to figure out what is happening, but I have to keep at my own tasks first...

I'm suspecting a board, but don't have easy access to spares to test with either, so...

As you face the paper drawers pull the right side panels. With the power OFF carefully reseat every connector you see that are black or blue, or do them all. Also make sure the compressor, left side, is putting out a steady 82 on the gauge.
