Does not show roll info and Meter A in the build sheet shows 0 for SF. First thing I thought was that Unattend was not running. But Unattend is working fine, but does not show the roll info in Unattend either. If I open the paper drawer and add/remove rolls and close the drawer, the confirmation pop up never shows, but you can hear the rolls moving adjusting as if the machine is checking to see if paper is present. There are absolutely no errors. Scanner is online; Printer is online; Toner online. I'm sure it's with the printer, not the controller but I cannot pinpoint it. I opened and closed all covers and doors just to make sure something wasn't properly closed, nothing. Here's the head scratcher: If I'm in the Service Technical Service Screen, I can tell it to run a test print and it'll print one from roll 1. But within, the UI, it will not print anything because the printer thinks there is no paper in the printer. Anyone seen this?

Could be, but I talked to Software support thinking it would be software and they said, "NOPE". But I did delete the Rollinfo.dat and the IPSUnattend.dat and it didn't help. Going back in the morning.

One way to tell if this is HW or SW is to run IPSStat.exe from a command prompt (c:\program files\common files\ipsstat.exe).

This is the application that interacts with the IF card drivers and the printer via the IF card.

There should be many columns/rows of data returned and if they return all 'F', then there is no communication with the printer for some reason. If nothing at all is returned, the more than likely there is something wrong with the IF card (albeit doubtful).

jezebel09: thanks for that info.

UPDATE: After pulling and reseating the IF Card and all points on the DC Controller, no luck. Went back into the Service Technical Screen and was able to print a test print from drawer 1 and 2 so I knew there were communication between printer and controller. I ended up re-ghosting the IPS from a CD and it worked. SO, it was software.

I would be curious if rename LOGDIR folder and create a new folder could resolve that kind of trouble ???
