We have ONE HP110nr that was sold and I know absolutely nothing about this unit and didn't have service manual until recently.

The issue I am getting is if you send a drawing (in this case D-size) it gets almost to the end of the drawing and just stops. There is no error that I see other than it is flashing that the yellow ink is either low of bad, not sure.

If you have any advice you can email me (Terry) at:

[email protected]

Thanks!

Besides the obvious which would be to change the empty / bad ink that its asking you to change (are you sure its asking for a yellow cartridge or is it a printhead?) I know this sounds crazy but you might actually want to look at the operator guide to understand what its asking for...

Does it just stop printing the image and still spit out the 24x36 sheet? if so is this a pdf? If so there may be nothing wrong with the machine... unless its a PS model and you are using the PS / PS3 driver the pdf files are converted to an RTL file by the hpgl or pcl3 driver which with todays newer pdf's especially can easily use up all the ram in the machine causing the tail end of the print to come out blank. (printing PDF's is NOT supported on non ps machines because of these limitations) I have seen a 2mb pdf become 300mb after the print driver converts it to be sent to the printer... these printers dont have enough RAM to process the file and either errors like 79:04 or incomplete prints are the result as well as locked up machines.
This is now a pretty common service call with older non ps equipment or ps equipment were IT people replaced drivers not understanding wide format, and customers always complain that it worked before... nevermind the newer more complex version of adobe or the larger multilayered PDF's they are attempting to print now that werent in the equation "before"...

I would try printing the file again if its a PDF and select the "print as image" option in adobe reader...depending on the version it may be hiding under the "advanced" tab in the adobe print menu screen... this may be an alternitive solution to your issue.

Besides that and cleaning the printhead contacts which could just coincidently be shorting from overspray I cant really give anymore advice on this model machine...while we did sell the 100 series machines they were always considered disposable or to be sent back to hp for service type machines because of machine cost vs service costs..

I am happy to see that I had a reply when I looked this morning, however I wish I got more than 4 hours of sleep and this made more sense to me.

I will have him try the pdf as an image and see what that does.

Thanks.
