I have a tds800 giving me this code. 06703 ORE: ~Paper jam at exit pinch: CTFTRANSE~ It was highly intermittant but now it is acting up more and more. What could it be and where do I start?
Thanks,
David |

There are two common causes;
The drive belt that turns the CTF exit rolls goes bad.
The one-way clutch in the slotted wheel sensor binds up. Sometimes if the clutch isn't completely gone you can take it out, carefully clean out the clutch and oil it with a high grade oil. _________________ Regards,

Mark,
Today I swapped out that clutch wheel thing that you spoke about. Machine was running when I left, we will see what happens. Now, is the belt that you are talking about the one on the right side, (motor side), that runs on those gears that are between the frame and the pre heater? Are the exit rollers those stone rollers that are turned by that belt? The belt was not broken but what else should I look for? I guess I would have to remove the pre heater to replace that belt if it is the one I think you are talking about.
Thanks,

The belt is the one that is moved by the green jam handle, right next to the Main motor. The rolls are the ones the slotted wheel rides on when the upper heater is closed. The pre heater drive belt can be changed without removing the pre heater if you're patient. Trouble is the small pulleys are usually loose, the set screws back out, and without a long allen key it's a PIA to get them tight. You're better off sometimes pulling the pre heater and changing out both pulleys and the belt, making sure the tensioner is free to move also. _________________ Regards,
