I am facing the following problem the printer apparently does not communicate with the internal computer. By submitting the impression to KIP2000 it will recognize but not print. For the name of the uploaded file should appear on the screen in green color, but appears yellow. The caption at the bottom of the print screen of the computer connected to the printer has the following information yellow = "media n / a". So I believe it is a bug in configuration, related to the internal computer, because the image was restored and then it does not print more. Have any of you have the necessary settings to be made after the Restoration of the CD?

Important information is that she was experiencing the error E-28 and that was resolved with a clean contact on one of the fan connectors. Although sometimes we have to clean these connectors again, apparently eata normal functioning, and the problem resolved.

I'm from BRAZIL and I apologize if the English was not so good, but I'm here because I trust this forum and I realmnete need this machine running. Thank you all.

The version used is 6.0.34 KIP 2000 printer and the title bar of the program appears KIP unatted. The cd is one of retauração the representative brought along with the machine, but he is not original. Must be edited by the tecnico KIP here in Brazil.

Other information is the color of the legend are 4 white ( "ready"), blue ( "shulled"), green ( "Curret job"), yellow ( "media n / a"). Since the yellow is a qui is looking at the moment.

Are you printing through Request or windows driver? If you are printing through Request, can you print from another station? Can you print from another station on the windows driver? You may want to check your Request .ini file and make sure it's not corupt. It should say...

[PaperTypes]
Paper0=Bond
Paper1=Vellum
Paper2=Film
Paper3=OnHold

If its the windows driver causing the problem, you may want to re load it..
If it's Request, You may want to reload that as well.
Let us know how you make out.

Your English is fine.

From what you describe, the printer is communicating with the computer inside it. The computer is called the "controller"
The print being shown in yellow is showing you that the print is supposed to be on a type of print media that is not in the printer. The printer tells the controller what type of media it has, so the printer and controller should communicating.
I don't know how well "media" translates. it means the rolls of material that you are printing on (the "paper").

At the computer you are printing from, go to "printers and faxes" Click on it with the right mouse button, and select "printing preferences". In the box you should see one line that says "media". Beside it will be the type of media. If you click beside it, it will drop down a list of media types. Be sure it is the same type of media as the printer has.

In the paper drawer there is a switch that you select the type of media.
It is on the right hand side, beside the roll of paper, above the selector for the paper width. Be sure it is set to the type of media you have.

If you are using the Windows printer driver, the version of the driver can also cause the same type of problems. I recently worked on a 2000 that, from one computer, I had to select "vellum" in the printer driver to get it to send the print as "bond".
Sometimes reinstalling the driver will help, sometimes you have to manually remove the driver and then reinstall it. Instructions from Kip are here:

http://www.kipamerica.com/software/Windows%207%20Windows%20Driver%20installation.pdf

This document tells you how to manually remove the driver. It is for Windows 7, but it works for Windows XP. I do not know how well it translates. You are changing the Windows registry and if you are not careful you can make your computer not work.
Do not try if you are not certain.

If you are using the software from Kip called "Request" then be sure it is version 6.0, if I remember correctly you have to use 6.0 Request to print to a printer with 6.0 on it.

I hope I have helped, let us know if you get it working or if you need any more help.
