I have an 1800 I am refurbing for a future sale. It worked fine when it came from it's previous account. I am experiencing J-3 only when I run more then 2 copies. If I run 1 it is fine, but if 2 or more are ran then every time the origanal starts it's return for the next scan it stops and gives a J-3. I have reason to believe it is an original feeding issue unless proven wrong. I have tried both reverse clutches which were no help. I have time to waste on this refurb. But it is baffling me, any help would be appreciated. I have tried new T&S wires new ph9 sensor(ph7 was working in diagnostic) and one set of the feed rollers inside printer was replace due to rubber spinning on shaft(rest were fine)

I had a 1880 with a bad return motor gearbox. Listen to the motor when you paper is coming back, is it struggling ? My machine had seen a lot of paper, and that gearbox needed a good lube. Works great now.

I never had to replace a clutch on the top section of an 1880. I don't think it's (or was) the problem.
