I have a HP 500 (42 inch) where the lead edge and trail edge border of a plot does not print........sides are O.K. or if you have an image with no text near the edge (or border),. the rest prints out fine.
Has firmware version 3.1.
Any suggestions????

Thanks.

Pete

Hi: The latest firmware for a 42" hp designjet 500 is A.03.07. I have updated firmware and that has solved some issues. www.itrc.hp.com. Download, save, extract and push thru network or usb on laptop, takes about 20 minutes.
Have not seen the lead edge not print but had the trail edge not print. I was using the wrong driver. Removed wrong driver and installed correct driver and it worked.
How old are the printheads? What os are they using? How big is the file? What program are they printing from? What does pen alignment and test print from printer look like?

How close to the lead edge and trail edge are you trying to print? I believe thae even using the "smaller margins" option you will have a minimum of .25" on either end. Which 500 is this ie., the actual product number, such as C7769, or C7770, or one of the newer 500's?
