On our 7000 whenever roll 2 tries to load after closing the drawer, it will feed the roll up to check it and when it rolls back to its normal position, there's a noise and it makes the drawer pop out enough to cause a U-01. It does not matter if the machine has 24 30 or 36 inch paper in roll 2 and any one of the 4 spindles from the machine causes the same result always on roll 2.

Anyone seen this before?

each exterior side of the rolldeck has a latch that latches to a pin mounted to the printer end plates. check to see if the pins or latches are loose

Chazbo is correct. I have been to several machines where the pin has fallen completely out. I apply a small amount of Loc-Tite to the threads to prevent it from reocurring. Have fun accessing the one on the right side.

Correct, been there, done that. Not fun, especially the right side, but no way around it.
