I have 2 calls, on the same unit, for E-07 faults. (cutter fault). On both occasions there were narrow, 1/2 in, strips of paper in the cutter. This is a 2 roll unit and the customer runs 36" paper in roll 1 and 24" paper in roll 2. The strips appear to be 24" paper. I don't have a clue why this is happening and any input would be appreciated.

I too, am starting to see this on the 6000s. Unfortunately it is a major issue as the cutter is a bear to remove on the 6000. I think the good ol' boys at KIP need to be made aware of this. Any dealers out there care to make them aware of it? They don't value my opinion much anymore. Of course they will probably just say "wow, we have never seen that before".

Some things never change.

I was just looking at the KIP Tech Tips and saw a posting that this problem may be caused by the switches at the ends of the cutter assy. It is suggested to check for positive acuation. I would also check for a resistance build up on the contacts. I shall check this on my next visit to this machine.
