Can the 8000 support 650ft Rolls? I seem to remember it could. If it can, is anyone out there doing it? Do the bigger rolls cause trouble? Clutch issues, spool break issues....? _________________ Neil Johnston

HEY NIEL,
2 OF OUR REPRO SHOPS FIND IT EASIER FOR THEM TO RUN THE 650's. FOR THE PAST TWO YEARS WE HAVEN'T HAD ANY PROBLEMS. I AM NOT SURE WHAT KIP WOULD SAY ABOUT THIS? HOPEFULLY THIS HELPS YOU OUT. |

My understanding is that KIP officially says the KIP 8000 can run a maximum of 500' rolls... (20lb bond) |

We have a high-volume print shop and I could swear they have their paper supplier ship them custom 600' rolls because the diamater of the 650' rolls were large enough there was a concern they may not rotate freely in the drawer. |

600 is good, 650 can give you some rubbing issues in some of the drawers. I have a customer that runs 600 rolls exclusively. No issues. _________________ What we have gained in technology, we have lost in humanity. |

I agree with Doc about the rubbing issues. I had more issues with the roll weight causing roll deck sagging issues ( 36" rolls ) and torque limiter wear. Clutches hold up well though. _________________ Ride To Live |
