I have a customer with a KIP 6000 that they received from another branch. It has about 350k on it, and runs well.... except... when they run long prints that are 30 or 36" wide, after about 4' the plan starts to wrinkle. I have cleaned and checked the fuser, adjusted the fuser pressure, adjusted the fuser motor speed, removed ozone filter from mid transport section, cleaned belts, restrung wires, cleaned all infeed rollers, and various other tasks to no avail. Oh, adjusted fuser temperature too. 18", 22" 24" are all fine up to 12'. Its only 30 and 36 after about 3 to 4'. When you stop it in mid-print you can see how to paper before the fuser is buckling. I'm thinking new heat roller and press roller, but 350k seems low to be replacing rollers. Any suggestions?

Try marking fuser exit at edge of paper to see if paper is moving left or right. This may narrow your search for a solution. Make sure printer is level so frame is not racked. Ueven heat roller pressure may help. A recoated heat roller can cause wrinkles. Check the guide plate at entrance to fuser. The press rollers do harden up with age or can form a wear pattern if only small size paper is processed in printer. This is a pesky problem for sure......Good Luck!

After exploring all other options I replaced the heat and pressure rollers, returned everything else to factory defaults and problem solved. Seems really premature for a fuser to go... but I guess...
