I have a KIP2200 scanner mated to an XP box running 6.5.1 Scan. Anytime the customer gets a jam on the scanner, it also creates a "Error: No local data, Run-time error '70': Permisson Denied" on the Scan software. Now, when that happens and they clear the jam on the scanner, they'll hit the OK button on the error and then the scan software automatically shuts down. If they relaunch the Scan software, it will open up, but as soon as they select "scan next" "Auto mode" or any other button, the Run-time error pops up and kills the scan program when you hit OK. They will need to reboot the entire STF PC to establish communication again, until the next jam. |

After figuring it had something to do with permissions, hence "Permission Denied" error... I went to the properties of the Scan icon and noticed that not everyone had full control. I went in and gave everyone full control and it seems to have fixed it. I can create a jam, have the error on the scanner and STF PC. As soon as I clear scanner jam and hit OK on error STF PC, it brings me right back to the Scan program to continue scanning...exactly what I wanted. |
