Anybody ever string your own corona wire? If so, what worked and how well did it work?

After breaking 3 of the pre-strung wires @ $40 each I'm thinking of buying a spool of stainless steel 40ga. wire & tying that "spring & washer" together.

The material specs & thickness (gauge) for a TDS 400 would be helpful.

135 views and nobody has anything to contribute here...??

That stock wire is stong in tension but as soon as it's crimped or bent (like at the connection) it's tensile strength goes way down. Is stainless steel wire any better?

You can try these people www.reprographic-intl.com/

Maybe you need to revisit your ham handed restringing technique instead of taking people you don't know to task. Most of the technicians that visit here are eager to share information and help where possible.

I have only strung my own wires for the last 20 years. It is a skill that does have to be developed.

Also you probably did not get any quick replies since you posted this in the Oce section. Since this is mainly a KIP site, 99% of the traffic in the KIP section.

(Mark was obviously out drinking last night and in his stumbling home he stumbled across the Oce section purely by accident while looking for porn)

I resent that remark. I was drinking all day, and I didn't stumble I was driving. Could swear Your picture was in the porn I was watching......Guess I should have added a smiley face to my email; can't we all just get along?

Hey, you won't get this type of info on the official KIP America forums. Are they even still up? My traffic and post counts blow them away. They should be paying me.

You're right, give yourself a raise......Speaking of raises do you get residuals from Steve the Salami films?
