I have 2 Kip 8000 printers that does random stupid stuff:

1. Trim sheets print with Scissors for no apparent reason througout the day.
2. Error 44 displayed in red thru VNC viewer (this error is not in the service manual)
3. a 20 sheet job was sent to one printer and only printed 4 sheets, sent to the other machine and it printed the whole job...

I have already CD ghosted both controllers to 6.5.492 and this stuff still happens.

Any advice? Does this sound like software or hardware? I am a software tech...

When you get the error 44 what code does it show on the KIP itself? Also sounds like it could be hardware since you have re-imaged the controllers. I have an 8000 running the same software with no problems. What software is being used to submit to the KIPs? If it is anything higher than 6.5 this could be causing your issues as well. There is a patch for mixed environments that needs to be applied to the controllers to use the 7.0 software.
