I have a 6054 about 10 months old that prints fine from file, however when copying or using the test button on a 36" drawing, the right 12" is barely there(almost void, but I can see a faint image). I saw this about a month ago & changed the charge wire. The problem went away(I'm sure it was unrelated). Is this a printhead issue or is there something elsa I can do? |

Could be dirty printhead. Clean it with windex. Could also be a developer problem. Very typical for this model. The reason why it looks worse when you do a test pattern is because the test pattern is being printed with some of the lightest lines possible from this printer. A scanned copy or plot from file would rarely use these light of lines.
Could be a printhead balance problem, but I doubt it. I know KIP replaced some printheads early on because of this. The engineers forgot to put a printhead balancing mode in this printer for balancing the 12 inch segments of the printhead.
My diagnosis is that the dev unit is in need of service. _________________ What we have gained in technology, we have lost in humanity. |
