I know the USB works with Win XP.
I am going to assume your laptops have Win 7.
I have not tried connecting with Win 7
Is it possible that a driver is required for USB to serial? |

crate the printer and controller up real good
ship the crate to "mark in vegas" so he can take it to Pawn Stars to see how much you can get for it |

it could be coming from the fuser roller
an aging drum can cause this also
you can move the main charge wire closer to the grid and/or lower the transfer wire to see if there is a change |
